Snog by Cliqx: Scalable Bus Ticketing White-label and Marketplace Site Solutions

T.L;D.R.: Snog, a brand owned by Cliqx, focus on the bus ticketing business. They offer white-label and marketplace solutions

Architecture in a glimpse: Snog has a complex system that integrates with multiple GDS, payment gateways and BI. On top of that are the site solutions I've built. They run on Next.js flavored AWS Amplify.

As a developer with a background in design, I led a team of three to create white-label and marketplace bus ticketing solutions for a brand called Snog, owned by Cliqx. This article outlines our key accomplishments and strategies.

1. Revenue Generation and Rapid Scaling:

At Snog, we urged to scale fast. Within two months of launching our bus ticketing solutions, we generated over 200,000 BRL in revenue with only one client. That attracted more clients, and we only could scale because we collaborated closely with the infrastructure team and adopted BaaS, CI/CD, and GitFlow; we used Next.js on AWS Amplify, connected to BitBucket.

2. Optimizing Server-Side Build Time:

When building our applications, I implemented multi-tenancy using Next.js rewrite rules and a theming system with Mantine UI, allowing customizations based on path parameters. That decision saves the company up to 60% of the costs regarding server-side builds.

3. Product Analysis and UX Research:

My team was able to influence product roadmaps and strategic business decisions and truly enhance the user experience. But that only happened because we committed to investing time in product analysis and UX research, collaborating with Devs, Designers, POs, and PMs.

4. SEO and Online Visibility:

Collaboration with the marketing team led to SEO improvements through custom domains, SSG + ISR, and Google Tag Manager integration, boosting clients' online visibility.

Leading this project demonstrated the power of collaboration, innovative solutions, and a deep understanding of user needs. These achievements have become valuable to my portfolio, showcasing my ability to combine design and development for tangible results.
